HK volunteer gets shot in Aceh

My parents heard the following news... Now, they are quite concerned about my upcoming trip to Banda Aceh. :P

JAKARTA : A Hong Kong woman working for the Red Cross in Indonesia's tsunami-hit Aceh province was shot and wounded while travelling to a relief distribution point

Eva Yeung, 28, was hit while travelling to Lamno, 55 kilometres (34 miles) south of the provincial capital Banda Aceh, in a marked Red Cross vehicle, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) said. Aceh's police chief Inspector General Bahrumsyah Kasman blamed separatist rebels of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM)... "Foreign organisations should not be fooled by the state of civilian order and the conducive situation so far, because the GAM continue to represent a threat," he said....

[Eva] was in stable condition but needs surgery after two bullets grazed her neck and face, said the federation's chief Indonesian delegate Ole Johan Hauge.... Hauge said the organisation would meet Indonesian Red Cross officials to decide if the incident would affect their operations in Aceh. Aceh, where separatist rebels have been fighting for independence since 1976, is recovering from a devastating earthquake-triggered tsunami that killed some 131,000 people on December 26 and left 37,000 unaccounted for.
